About Us

At Patient Centered Weight Management, we will not patronize you. We will not try to fix you, because there is nothing wrong with YOU. You just happen to have a chronic medical condition that 2/3 of adults in the United States also have.  Whether you are overweight or obese, or would like to lose 10 pounds or 100, it doesn't matter. Everyone has their own individual factors that make the journey difficult for them.

It is not our job to judge, it is our job to understand.

Being overweight is not just about how much you eat and how much you move.  It is a disease that has a hormonal basis, where the body's signals are not working quite right. These signals influence things like when you are hungry or full, whether you are a breakfast person or not, what foods you like or dislike, and yes, your metabolism. There are biological reasons that some people can eat whatever they want without any effect on their weight, and others cannot.

How can we help you?

Our job is to help you identify what factors are impacting your weight and your ability to manage it. These may include: your medical history, your medications, your food preferences, your job, your family, your stress, in short- all the aspects of your life.

We will then come up with a long-term treatment strategy that may include simple behavior modification techniques, FDA approved medications, suggestions on how to improve your diet and activity, and perhaps most importantly, ongoing support. Your plan may include referrals to other like-minded specialists. But the most important aspect of your plan is that it will be unique to you.  No two patients will or should have the same approach- because no two people have exactly the same body or life.
